MAT 112
The first design-related class that I took during my summer transition from UCSB to Sacramento State. This class was a really practical class that teaches students to use Adobe Illustrator (using shortcuts and different effects).
Advertising Design
For this project, the professor wanted us to create an advertisement specifically for a canned drink. So I got my inspiration off of Japanese-styled advertisements, where typographies are usually cute and refreshing. I used the blend tool for the Japanese words which created a fuzzy, furry feeling. Then for the drink typography, I created a bubble on top of it to create a magnifying effect. Some improvements can be made for the Juice typography on the can - maybe some words can be cut off so it looks more realistic.

Create a Game Interface
Another big project of the class was to design a game interface. The professor gave us an example of simple kids game like Peppa Pig, how there were cartoons and simple speech bubbles for interactions.

The inspiration for this project was from a famous Japanese drama called "Okasan's Love". I remember watching the Hong Kong version of this drama back then and got my inspirations from the settings of the drama.
