About

The Hong Kong Professional Network (HKPN) aims to help Hong Kongers overseas (in US, Canada or Australia) to see personal development or job opportunities. There are workshops held from time to time, inviting people of different professions to share their success and journey living overseas. HKPN aims to connect pro-democratic Hong Kongers overseas in achieving success and reached out to different colleges to unite students and held workshops to help students with work opportunities.

Work

I met members of HKPN during my position as publicity/PR at UCSB HKSA. They reached out to us asking us to join their Telegram group and workshops that would help students with post-graduate job opportunities. I was also seeking internship/opportunities to design back then to further improve my designing skills. Coincidentally, their original designer had left their designing position due to other work conflicts, and I had a chance to help design some posters for upcoming events. The first poster that I was asked to design was the Career workshop poster and the second poster was a reading club that they were going to hold on Clubhouse. Unfortunately, after the two posters I have designed, I need to travel to Hong Kong and was unable to continue my role as a designer for them. But overall, it was a fun experience - since I was really nervous for designing for them because I had little to no experience in designing back then.
